Sure, this is a children's book, but it is a great one chock full of ideas that can be transferred to a miniature dollhouse and diorama without much effort, if any at all. It is an old book, but the same goes for this too. I mistakenly requested it at my library not knowing it was a children's book until I went to pick it up. I decided to give it a peek and I am so glad I did. In fact, I found that I read and read it so many times that I finally purchased my own copy from Amazon and I'm so glad that I did.It isn't a thick book at just 56 pages, and the photos are in black and white, but there is a treasure within those pages. Build a sofa out of a sponge for the living room, an easy chair, an end table or a fireplace from a simple box, you can even add stones to it for a stone fireplace. Make a clock using a button, paper and glue, a mirror from aluminum foil, and sculptures from chess pieces.Before you even start making any mini's it tells you what to save. Those simple things that even miniature enthusiasts might ignore, or not. Basic tools and materials are delved into. Then, the author takes you room by room to makes those things to fill the home. Oh sure, this is written for children with that type of dollhouse in mind, but why not adapt it for the adult miniature dollhouse? Isn't that what miniaturist's do anyway? Adapt normal everyday household items to fill a dollhouse?Personally, I love this book and will use it as a guide to make some things in it for my dollhouse mansion. It's so easy to follow. I have no problem recommending it to anyone that makes mini's.

I remember ‘living’ in this book when I was a child. I was delighted to stumble across the book on Amazon while looking for ideas for my kids’ dollhouse. Such a joy to ‘live’ with those little teddy bears again with my little ones. 💕

I used to borrow this book from the library at my elementary school for 3 grades. I couldn't remember the name or author of this book once I left that school. One day I found it by a Google search by accident and couldn't wait to buy it. It still makes me remember my excitement and inspiration to get creative and make tiny things. I still create things today, but in a much more polished manner than matchboxes and paper fasteners. :p

I used to check this book out from the library constantly as a kid. I wanted a dollhouse more than anything so I was always making furniture. I just bought this last year and was almost brought to tears when I opened it-it's just so much fun and it's really inexpensive stuff, life using toothpaste caps for lampshades, or marker caps for flower vases. Definitely great for rainy days.

A copy of one my daughter loved when she was a little girl. This one will go to my granddaughter. Only complaint is that it smelled musty and needed a healthy airing out to remove the effects of long term storage.

Gave it to my daughter since she is very creative can use household items to make things for her dolls.

I used to buy this book every year, and the anticipation I felt was akin to when I was a kid and looking forward to the new season of Saturday morning cartoons. Years ago, I had given my old editions to thrift shops, as I drifted away from comic fandom. And whenever I wanted to find a value of a book, I'd just do an online search - it seemed so much easier and convenient - after all, it seemed the price guide kept getting heavier and the font size smaller. But now I wish I had kept those earlier editions. I had forgotten what I had been missing.Not only is it more convenient to just flip through pages, but I can easily view key issue notations and individual issue values for each title at a glance. But the Overstreet Price Guide is much more than that. It has articles about comic book history, not just for collecting and valuation, but also the cultural aspects of the books. It is really a connection between the individual collector and the hobby at large.Recently, especially with all the movies based on comic books, I've slowly been "returning to the fold." Buying this edition, at least for the moment, has accelerated this interest. I don't know, and actually doubt I'll reach the same level of interest in comics I had years ago, but the Overstreet Guide has certainly brought back memories and is doing its part, along with fandom related tv shows, and local conventions to re-acquaint me with the hobby.

The definitive resource and price guide reference for the entire comic book collecting industry. Every dealer on the planet has one, and uses it as a benchmark for pricing. And even when they sell books at a different price, they always do so in reference to The Guide price (i.e. "Above Guide, " or "Below Guide.").The values in this book are not guesstimates. They are based upon a wide survey of North American comic book dealers and collectors. At the very least this book tells you which books are more in demand and which are not.The only criticism I have is that 3rd party graded books definitely command a price premium in the market over so-called "raw" books. The Guide should make an effort to reflect this somehow in their valuation system. Either designate that the prices are for certified grades, or raw, books.I also believe that eBay sales of standard books should also form the guide pricing. It does account for auction sale prices, but mostly of key books.Additionally, the people who buy the hard copy should also be given access to a digital copy.Otherwise, this is the best Comic Book collecting reference you can own. Highly recommended.

Good gosh how long have I been purchasing this tome...Well, actually, it's been a few years, but before then it was every year since it first came out (yeah, I'm that old).Beyond the meat and potatoes of the fully-loaded pricing by grade for every comic book known to man (and most unknown as well), the articles and market insights are well worth the time invested.And, as always, a treasure trove of covers to look at, old and new. This book keeps getting better every year.Now, when am I going to pull down all those white boxes and get started revaluing my collection?

Haven't used one of these in twenty years. Excited to re-evaluate my collection and see its current value. Unfortunately the first night of going through this the pages began to fall out of the back sections. Pictures included.

For Bronze age and earlier, Overstreet is pretty dead on. This is the book to rely on for pricing your collection. Also a good tool for shopping on ebay, as sellers tend to inflate prices on back issues featuring characters that are up-and-coming. For example, Thor #132 is the first appearance of Ego, the Living Planet and is worth about $100 in good shape. Since Ego is appearing in the film "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" in early 2017, some sellers are trying to gouge speculators by charging up to twice the value. This book will help you avoid overpaying for back issues. If you're looking for more current book values, i.e. the last 2-3 years, then your best source is an ebay search.

This is the book I wish I had a year ago as I was coming out to my old church. It is a great primer for what we mean when we say someone identifies as trans and what the Bible might or might not say about that. It takes the complex issues around affirming theology and the stories of trans people and combines them into a quick and easy to read book.If you are a trans Christian, or just a Christian, looking to understand more about those who are so often pushed out or ignored by faith congregations this is an excellent place to start. Trans lives of faith are often misrepresented or ignored in today’s culture and this book could not be more timely for those looking for a deeper understanding beyond the culture wars and media sensationalism. Yes, you can be trans and hold onto the precious, hard-earned faith that gives you and so many others strength and hope.

This book is something the church desperately needs right now. Austen writes with such wisdom and grace, providing space for those who aren't informed while also encouraging those who are questioning their gender identity and wondering if they still have a place in the church.I particularly appreciate how conscious Austen is about sharing his platform with other trans people, especially people of color. He elevates their stories and in doing so, demonstrates that there is no one "right" way to be trans and definitely no one "right" way to be trans and Christian.I wish I could convince everyone I know to read this book.

Religious circles are not known for their acceptance of minorities. Thank you for your courage, Austen.From a psychology perspective, I already knew that those who identify as LGBTQIA+ are more likely to attempt and complete suicide. These statistics are a red alert for the culture that we have both in secular and Christian communities. There are people in so much distress that they see suicide as the only way out of the daily tension that they live with over their sexuality, gender identity, or gender expression."Transforming" offers a new perspective to Christians who are used to the typical two gendered culture. I am still figuring out what I believe theologically, but research is important and I appreciate Austen for sharing his story. Above all, every person is worthy of love and respect. I didn't realize library bound means small! This book is the size of a childs book . Very disappointed in it. I love the Labonte brothers so I'll keep it but don't assume it's a regular size book. No where did I see measurements so I was fooled . Not worth more than $5 for it's size.

My dad loves the Labonte brothers and I bought this book for christmas and he was very pleased. I have never seen a book like this at a book store and was glad to find something so personalized to his liking.

I bought this book from Amazon several years ago and I still own the book to this day. I am saving it for my children when they are born. But this is a great book for little boys who love cars and racing! Tons of great pictures about the Labonte Family racing legacy that still lives on!
