We bought three books about puberty for our 11 year old son. I will post this comment under all three books. The books are The Boy’s Body Book, Third Edition: Everything You Need to Know for Growing up YOU by Kelli Dunham, RN; The “What’s Happening to My Body?” Book for Boys. Revised Edition by Lynda Madaras with Area Madaras and It’s Perfectly Normal: Changing Bodies, Growing Up, Sex and Sexual Health (The Family Library) by Robie H. Harris.My son read all three books, so I asked him for his feedback on each book and this is what he said.He found the It’s Perfectly Normal book to be “more comic’y and less squeamish.” He found the Bird and the Bee characters thru-out the book to be “really funny.” It’s Perfectly Normal contained the most information about sexual intercourse whereas The Boy’s Body Book and What’s Happening to My Body have more about health.The What’s Happening to My Body book contained “more anatomically correct drawings.” It also has a section about being uncircumcized and how to take care of your foreskin.The Boy’s Body Book is “fine,” but “it doesn’t really talk about sex and genital changes.” It doesn’t go into as much detail as the other two books. It does however have more content on older teens, curfew, chores, siblings and divorce. It also has a brief section on what to do if someone tries to touch you inappropriately.The Boy’s Body Book also doesn’t have a section about girls’ bodies, but both What’s Happening to My Body and It’s Perfectly Normal do have sections about girls.Overall, if parents want a book that is more about emotions, then he recommends the Boy’s Body Book; and if parents want a book that is more detailed about sex and genital changes, then he recommends What’s Happening to My Body or It’s Perfectly Normal.

Love this book! It's very detailed without being too graphic. There are no actual photographs just illustrations which is nice for younger boys. My son likes it at age 9 almost 10 and there are parts we can come back to in a couple years like tips on shaving and getting his first job. There are also websites listed where boys can get more information if needed.

I got this for my ten year old son, as an introduction to the years ahead. We went through a bit of it when I gave it to him, but I'm leaving the rest to research on his own, then ask me or my husband questions if he has them. I assume he's reading it, because he came into the kitchen last week and calmly announced, "Yeah, I think I'm in the first stages of puberty."

Tells boys what to expect of their bodies without being too graphic. Talks about puberty, but also about how to eat well and exercise and proper hygeine and whatnot. Great book, along the vein of American Girls' The Care and Keeping of Me. I recommend for boys 8 and up.

I wanted a book that my son could read on his own to formulate questions on puberty. It covers the basics - wet dreams, growth spurts, etc, but doesn't talk about sex, which is perfect for my son's age. Much of the book is actually about friendship and other topics, but my son really enjoyed it. I will see him reading this book on his own.

This is about my 10th time purchasing a book from this series. I get it for all the 6th graders. As a former school nurse, I know that is the age they have a lot of curiosity/anxiety about the subject, and among the several I have bought, this is the one they seem to prefer.

Bought for a 11 year old boy for questions I was not ready to answer. After flipping through the book, some of the content - I felt for an immature child is at, was a bit to informative.. However the chapters that pertain to NOW , I had him read then we talk about it afterwards. Pretty much the book has been dissected now in a binder, the appropriate chapters to be revealed as he matures. I love the part about hygiene!!!

I bought this for my ten and twelve year old grandsons. This is a great book for boys this age. Sex education doesn't get taught in our schools until 7th grade, and this book gave them the information they needed as a prerequisite to that; namely, addressing body changes and information appropriate for middle schoolers. The kids read for half an hour before going to sleep, and this book was regularly in somebody's bed. Thank you for helping this nana deal with getting the right information to her grandsons!!

First off I would like to say I like Arnica as a author and have a lot of her books.Some I like, some I am indeffereynt to and some are hot as hell!She has a knack of drawing the reader into her stories with just enough details to peak his imagination enough to fell in blanks to suit himself.Her sex scenes definitely stir you up!But sex without a believable storyline can be as uninspiring as a storyline without the expected sex.I didn't like the incessant mind games in this story, why go on and on describing an emotional self debate when a sentence or two was more than sufficient.I also didn't get the wife's sudden change and never got the vibe there was any jelious worry on the husband's part.The thrill is the risk of something happening you hadn't expected of loosing something you hadn't expected to loose but they lived through it.The old adage, you don't know what you have until you loose it is so true. Sorry for the rambling review.This is in no way a critism of the author just this story.

This story is just okay compared to some of her other best works. The main complaint I have is, it was so straight forward. A couple get curious because some other couple is into hot wife relationship. Then they just do it. I don't see any story or conflict.

I feel that Arnica is back to writing hot Novels. In this one there were a lot of hot scenes. It is one that is worth reading and I agree with the other review that was written, that hopefully Arnica will write a sequel to this one. I feel the Laura is just getting started. Would really like for Laura to get her freak on.

As some of the other reviews show, you just can't please everyone. But this book certainly pleased me. I recently stumbled into an online conversation about hotwife erotica in which a point was made that really hit home for me. The person posting said that what they enjoyed most in these stories was the "transformation." And that's really it -- the "transformation" from middle-aged homemaker doldrums to uninhibited libertine who can't control herself is the most fascinating aspect of these stories, especially when it's done well, as it is here. And that's probably the case because, from the reader's perspective, it could happen to anyone.I don't even care for "interracial" erotica. I don't really mind reading it; I just don't care for an entire story to be "billed" around that specific fetish. Maybe it's an odd thing for me to say, but if this book had "An Interracial Hotwife Romance" on the cover, I probably wouldn't have read it. If it happens, then it happens and I'm fine with that. Something about putting it on the cover, up front and center, just strikes me as tacky. This book is "classier" for forgoing that kind of subtitle.So, since I'm sure the author reads these, let me summarize: More like this, please. Emphasis on transformation. The more withdrawn, conservative, and semi-geeky the wife, the better. "Unlocking Noel" was probably my favorite Arnica book before reading this one, but this is at least as good and probably better.

Wow! You just knew that the inevitable was going to happen and my d**k was the hardest it's been awhile reading the entire story! I could not put the book down even to get more lube! I can't remember how many times I came but it was more than a handful, pardon the pun. This is by far the best I've read from Arnica, hell, it's one of the best stories, ever! Give it five big stars and then some. Thanks, Arnica, for me wearing out my d**k. Even my girlfriend liked it. She has been black curious for a long time and might even go for it now!

This book depicted the reality of so many Hotwife Lifestyle couples experience where both show hesitancy throughout the book. Than culminating with the realization that the lifestyle is just wonderful. She realizes sex like never before and he realizes how much he loves her for it. As good as it gets.

This story was way too drawn out and was disappointing up until the very end. Didn't really enjoy it.

Perfect for my almost 6 year old grandson. I don't expect him to be able to read all the words but I intend to read it to him. The rhymes are fun and there are a lot of acts.I love this Dr, Seuss Learning Library series and have bought several.

Very clever way to teach kids (and adults) about reading maps! The rhymes are cute and easy to follow, illustrations are nice and it introduces a great skill and encourages kids to map out their room, home and surrounding neighborhood. Learning and hands on, it was perfect for my 1st grader!

We have the new learning Dr Seuss Books on horses, maps and anatomy. As a parent, grandparent, sibling or teacher; they are fun! to read aloud to children. They contain a surprising amount of informative content. Beginning Geography workbook Grades K-2 (also sold on Amazon) and this book combined make great teaching tools for 4-6 year old children. We recently did 3 activities from the geography book with a small group of home school children ages 4,5,6. The same night I was reading this book to daughter, and it happened to review the "compass rose", using "scale" to measure maps, and use of symbols on maps that we had studied during the day with the geography work sheets.

This book was basically great, although some of the Dr. Seuss-style rhyming was just a tad confusing in the map-reading examples. I'd recommend adults read it over first, and if you are reading to--or with--kids who aren't familiar with the Seuss style, just skip over some of the names. Other kids may enjoy that part.Overall this is a great book on map reading. Parents may want to read it with their kids before going on a road trip, have them practice some map-reading skills at home (including a blueprint-style map of the rooms in their home), then try to find some very simple maps for the kids to read on the road, depending on their ages.This summer we organized some day camps to help young family members learn to read, which included numerous treasure hunts to practice reading skills. On the final day we read this book, then the big blowout treasure hunt led them to a hidden bag of puzzle pieces. When they put the puzzle together, it was a map of a couple rooms in our house, with red arrows pointing to the location of their next clue. The kids loved it (and they didn't mind the treasure chest full of little prizes after the final clue either)! I think it reinforced how much they could learn by reading books, and how they could put that knowledge to use.I haven't seen many kids' books that teach map reading, so this is a great addition to a child's library, especially if you help them follow up with some practice. We females tend to have brains that don't automatically process maps, so this may be especially helpful for young girls--if they're anything like me, anyway!

We like this book in our house. It has many silly words and nothing makes a toddler giggle like silly words. It introduces all the map concepts, I was surprised when it said "Never eat soggy wheat", I learned soggy waffles in school. So fun yes, interactive yes, does my toddler really get it, I don't think so.

We love ALL things Cat In The Hat and this book doesn't disappoint! Such cute rhymes and good imformation.

Talked ALL about maps. All kinds of maps, how to read maps, what maps are used for what etc. Very great info. Kind of bored my 3 year old a bit but would be great in a school setting. Cat in the hat learning library rocks!

I am not an astrology fan, but I am a fan of Caroline Casey's trickster mystery school. This book is wonderful! Loaded with great insight and wit, her knowledge of astrology, mythology, language and fairy tales bring the stars and planets to life. I would highly recommend this book for anyone interested in a good read, in exploring fun and fascinating aspects of life and influence,as well as, well, astrology.

There are no words. I listened to this book on tape over 15 years ago. It changed my world view. This is a unique and original way to use astrology, for self-development and healing; and for co-creation with universal energies. I will be forever grateful to Caroline Casey for sharing her perceptions and knowledge. Read it.

Content is delightful. Informative and entertaining. But on my Kindle Oasis the type doesn't position/reposition itself correctly when there are glyphs and basic bullet lists of planetary qualities. Paragraphs get broken with one part starting where it belongs and another part turning up later in a totally unexpected place. Once you get used to this and can easily find your way to both parts of such paragraphs, all be good.

Well worth the time to read, did some of the practices in the book they seem to work. Enjoy a deeper understand of magical and symbolic language attuned through the archetypes of astrology.

This is an outstanding reference book on the meaning of astrology and of each constellation and planet. While I've read parts of it straight through just out of interest, it's even more helpful and interesting when I have a question about a particular constellation or planet and really want to get more understanding.The author has a more powerful purpose for astrology than allowing one to find out what's going to happen. The author feels that the importance of astrology is that it can one attune one to the forces guiding our lives and so work more in alignment with them, capitalize on them even. Thus the title, "Making the Gods Work for You." This is a much more powerful look at astrology than the usual.The writing style is also unusual. It's in the direction of stream of consciousness as if the author is channeling the cosmic consciousness, a deep source of eternal knowledge -- which she may well be doing. Sometimes the writing is poetic and/or funny. While the book is well-organized into each constellation and planet, due to the writing style, it can be slow-going. So, I usually read a few pages at a time as I need the information. I've needed to re-read parts over and over so that I can take in section as a whole, kind of like being able to swallow a bite of food rather than just read a logical description of what it tastes like.This is an outstanding reference book for attaining deep understanding of each planet and constellation as well as astrology itself.

Already had this book in my library and I ordered a copy for a friend's birthday.Amazon PRIME! got it to her quickly. She loves it!Casey brings the planets to life by envisioning them as dynamic energieswithin us. She writes in a way that is direct and visceral.

This book is a great way to understand the planets and signs in a different way than many other books. There are some bits that are a bit appropriative, but overall, this is my favorite book about astrology that I've read so far!

 Well, this is my first complaint about an Amazon purchase. The book came just this morning, and it's pretty crunched. Came in a bubble envelope, but no stiffener was used so it was "antiqued" on its way to me.Amazon should have known better. It's a thin book, paperback, with stapled binding - it clearly was not going to survive the shipment unscathed. Still, it's usable for my purposes (trying to learn to draw) so a beater copy will do. Really unusual for Amazon though. Most everything I get from them is wrapped well enough to be air dropped.The good news: nice drawings! See the video.

As a student of Life Drawing and Portraiture (Carolyn's by Design) going back to her art, I had to have more of Sargent. I had just read the book, "Strapless" about the nortorious Madame X who was captured over and over again in Sargent's renderings. This compilation of renderings displays how attuned Sargent is with his representations of the personalities, how good his eye is at capturing the likeness.....how easily he appears to use minimal usage of his medium to obtain maximum expression in his subject.....This small Dover Art Library reference to Sargent gives you the medium and size as well as the name of the subject and the Intro gives you a great synopsis on Sargent's bio.....For any serious student of Sargent....you will refer back to this over and over again for technical knowledge as well as the inspirational beauty obtained from his work...I love him! Formerly millersequine....sign me Carolyn's by Design and "Enjoy"!!!

A good book full of great drawings by one of the best artist I have ever studied. The price is right and you should not waist one more minute before you order it.I always like to see how the great artist draw, since drawing is the back bone to good painting in my mind.I really get a kick out of artist who say they can't draw and can only paint, sure.. Thats like saying you never learned to walk and that you can only run.Sargent used to say you should draw every day and I think he was right.

Great selection of Sargent's best drawings, but there is no contrast in the reproduction photos of the drawings--they are gray and washed out.

Nice Dover book with some primo drawingss by master portraitist J S Sargent. Good size and solid reproductions for a nice little price. Can't beatr price, around 5 bucks, less than ordering directly from Dover.

the printing quality isn't that good. and they didn't choose his masterpiece portraits they went for the normal ones. I recommend buying this book duo to the low price.

This book of 42 works has been one of my favorites. I have practiced the portraits over and over and enjoyed them each and every time. I am a big fan of JSS. His works are inspiring for a would be artist such as myself.

I bought this book after reading The World As I See It in a library copy, . What an unpleasant shock! This edition left out the entire final section, The Jews. In the library edition (published by Citadel) this section was about 22 pages and it contained some of Einstein's most interesting reflections. Warning! This listing is for an abridged version of the book yet conveniently fails to mention it. I want to read all of what Eintstein had to say—not just what some editor thought was worthy of inclusion.

This book is an abridged collection of some of Einstein's letters, speeches, and writings. I did not realize this was an abridged version and it is a quick read.Some of the writings are incredibly interesting and provide insight into this amazing man. Others are just plain boring and add little. The better writings are clearly towards the front of the book and elucidate his humanity and thoughts on topics from God ("I cannot conceive of a God who rewards and punishes his creatures, or has a will of the type of which we are conscious in ourselves." page 16). Knowledge (" . . . lecture-rooms are numerous and large, but the number of young people who genuinely thirst after truth and justice is small." page 16). Nationalism (" . . . the greatest obstacle to international order is that monstrously exaggerated spirit of nationalism which also goes by the fair-sounding but misused name of patriotism." page 60)There are a distracting amount of errors. A couple examples: page 20 ". . . put on uniform and kill and be BILLED (instead of killed)" Page 107 the entire last paragraph is duplicated.

The message I sent to Snowball Publishing:"I've ordered a copy of your printing of Albert Einstein's "The World as I See It" from Amazon. The quality is shameful. The book is riddled with errors, including early line breaks, uneven printing, missing headings, duplicate paragraphs, and typographical errors, like "Hen" versus "Herr" Einstein. I have asked Amazon for a refund based on a defective product. They don't even want me to return the book."

This is simply a collection of thoughts and writings of Einstein into a binder. The time of each of the different pieces is not clear. Knowing Einstein's history and how he changed view e.g. on pacifism and his German citizenship at different times, it makes the use of the material very limited.

This must be a purely scanned version of Einstein's writings in the public domain with zero proof reading on the publishers part! I have rarely seen so many errors that are obviously printer/scanning errors, that should have been caught by an editor, average about two errors per page. Where the word should be "in" they use "m", they use odd symbols for the letters "ae" and other oddball things. It is kind of like reading Einstein's work and working a crossword puzzle at the same time as you have to figure out two puzzle per page! This book, the work of the great man, due to the bad errors is worth maybe two bucks tops....no photos, no subject index, scores of errors that should have been editorially caught.

A Very satisfying read, as I knew little about this genius's thoughts and words beyond the fact that he was the author of the Theory of Relativity and somewhat responsible for ushering us into the Atomic Age. It was clearly stated before clicking 'BUY' that all writings regarding hard science had been edited out of this book, so it's not like I wasn't warned. But the editor could have included a short explanatory chapter -- perhaps written by a third party -- that would've given us some insight into what that ground-breaking theory is/was about.And then there's the atomic bomb. There's a huge gap between Einstein's writings regarding pacifism and the unexplained common-knowledge that it was he who whispered into FDR's ear: "We need a WMD"; somehow we just leap-frogged over WWII altogether.But especially satisfying were the paragraphs regarding Einstein's views regarding God, Judaism and organized religion, and world socialism. Apparently much that has been attributed to him (probably by the right -- a group to which I admittedly belong) regarding the existence of God was lifted out of context and spun. To say more about that here would become near to being a spoiler alert, so I'll leave it at that. But I will say this: Einstein's views regarding God and a Supreme Being do not clash with those of Deepak Chopra's, which is probably why you'll find Einstein referenced in several of Deepak's writings.All in all, highly recommended for those who are curious about what made Albert Einstein tick.

About the Author

Having served in the nonprofit sector since 1969, author Richard King knows the nonprofit hiring process from both sides of the hiring desk. He is currently President of Kittleman and & Associates, LLC., one of the top executive search and management consulting firms that exclusively serve the nonprofit community nationwide. He joined Kittleman in 1985. Mr. King has been the chief executive officer for three nonprofits: Wholistic Health Centers, Inc.; the Illinois Youth Service Bureau Association; and Youth in Crisis, Inc. He has served on boards of directors for several nonprofit organizations and consulted with dozens of nonprofits across the country on issues of governance, board development, long–range planning, fund raising, program development, and personnel appraisal. A resident of Oak Park, Illinois, Mr. King was born in 1944 and grew up in Eureka, a small Central Illinois town. He and his wife Cheryl have two grown children, Megan and Cory.
